Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI)

Our school district is participating in the Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) project in January /February in partnership with the Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) at UBC. The MDI is for students in Grade(s) 4 and 7 and is to understand more about children’s thoughts, feelings and experiences inside and outside of school. The questionnaire is completed online through the e-MDI and takes one to two class periods to administer. The MDI questions align with the BC Ministry of Education’s K-12 curriculum which includes a focus on promoting children’s personal and social competencies. Grade 7 student were given information regarding this.

If your student didn’t not bring it home, click here and the link  will take you to the package.

Inclement Weather School Closure Guidelines

Inclement weather conditions such as freezing rain, significant snowfall or high wind can occur during the fall and winter months. In such conditions, decisions on the opening or closure of school district facilities are made by the Superintendent of Schools, in consultation with management and supervisory staff, who have checked first-hand on the driving conditions, walking/sidewalk conditions, and general condition of buildings and accessibility to sites.
